Other sample projects
Eagle Butte, South Dakota
Working with the Cheyenne River Housing Authority, Big Water designed and implemented a mobile GIS workflow to increase efficiency in managing tribally owned housing units. In addition to setting up the technical infrastructure for the project, we conducted training to facilitate its use and build internal GIS capacity.
Big Water worked with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians on a comprehensive census of all adult Kalispel tribal members for the purpose of providing accurate and actionable data for tribal programs and departments. In addition to mailing paper forms to all adult tribal members, tribal members trained as survey field staff visited the homes of members in the Usk/Cusick and the Airway Heights/Spokane areas who had not returned their paper forms in an effort to obtain a response.
Black River Falls, Wisconsin
Big Water worked with the Ho-Chunk Nation to design and implement a census of all of their members in order to obtain critical information that the Nation's leaders could then use to better identify the needs of their communities, help facilitate proper resource allocation, and assist in effective governance.
